Fiscal Year 2025 Street Improvements
P.T. Ferro Construction was recently awarded the contract for the Village’s Fiscal Year 2025 Street Improvements project after a bid opening that took place on August 5, 2024. This project will consist of concrete curb/sidewalk replacements, milling, underdrains, patching, longitudinal joint sealing, resurfacing, and ancillary repairs.

This project includes upcoming street improvements involving approximately 4.5 miles of roads including: Willow Avenue/195th Street (Schoolhouse Road to Lagrange Road), Midland Avenue (191st Street to Third Street), Parker Street (Wolf Road to Midland Avenue) and many streets within the Crystal Creek Subdivision (South of 187th, beginning a couple blocks east of Wolf Road).

Significant construction should begin soon after Labor Day for Willow Avenue/195th Street and should be completed before Thanksgiving. Midland Avenue and Parker Street will be started much later. The construction within the Crystal Creek Subdivision will be dependent on the project’s progress due to possible weather conditions, which may result in the Crystal Creek Subdivision beginning after winter.

UPDATE (10/10/2024): Construction on Midland Avenue and Parker Street begun on October 7, 2024. The construction within Crystal Creek Subdivision will begin spring of 2025.

Curb and Sidewalk Program
Davis Concrete was awarded the contract for replacing curb and sidewalk throughout the Village in September. Work is expected to first occur between October 16 and December 1, 2023 depending on weather conditions. NOTE: These dates are approximate and work may occur outside of this range. The Village anticipates work to continue in the spring and into summer 2024. In addition to this replacement program, Staff evaluated sidewalks for mudjacking which will occur throughout the remainder of the current fiscal year (July 2023 to June 2024). Mudjacking raises sidewalks to level rather than remove and replace where appropriate conditions exist. Residents east of Wolf Road may see concrete construction crews performing this work during the Fall 2023 portion of the overall project.
