Registered seniors are eligible to receive a discount of $0.25 per month on the refuse portion of their utility bill. In order to receive the discount, one of the homeowners must be at least 65 years of age or better.
Seniors can simply look at the refuse rate on their water bill to see if they are receiving the discount. Seniors currently receiving the discount pay $22.37 for refuse on a single family home or $19.89 for a townhome.
Discount forms are available at the Mokena Village Hall. Seniors may come in person, call (708) 479-3900 and request the form by mail, or download the form by clicking here. Once downloaded, you may bring the form to the Village Hall, or mail it back. If utilizing the mail option, a drivers license copy must accompany the completed form.
