This Board is individually appointed to staggered terms by the Village President with advice and consent of the Village Board for terms of three years in duration.

This commission reviews pending development and annexation proposals for the Village of Mokena.
Members address proposed developments and annexations from a planning perspective by comparing the proposed land use to the Village’s Comprehensive Land Planning Documents.
- To hear and make recommendations to the Village Board on proposed amendments to this Title;
- To hear and make recommendations to the Village Board on special use permits, including planned developments;
- To establish reasonable standards of design for subdivisions and to receive all application for subdivision approval; and
- To review and report on any matters referred to it by the Village Board.
