Front Street Metra Station Rehabilitation

Last Updated: June 18, 2015

Work on the Front Street Metra station is expected to continue for approximately three more months.  Rehabilitation efforts include leveling a dip in the platform and replacing the tactile (caution) strip on the south side, with later work to extend the north platform.

For your safety, please do not walk through roped-off areas, and allow additional time to reach your boarding platform.

We apologize for any inconveniences as Metra makes these necessary station improvements.

LaGrange Road - Birch Avenue to Colorado Avenue
Last Updated:  June 18, 2015

The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) continues working to resurface LaGrange Road from just north of Birch Avenue in Mokena to Colorado Avenue in Frankfort.

Work consists of pavement patching, curb and gutter removal and replacement at limited areas, complete removal and replacement of the center median in the concrete pavement sections located at LaGrange's intersection with Willow Lane and LaPorte Road, removal of the top two inches of existing asphalt, and installation of a new asphalt wearing surface.  New striping will be added after the new surface course is placed.

During construction, two lanes of traffic are generally being maintained in each direction, although there is occasionally a need to reduce traffic to one lane for major operations.

Project completion is currently expected around the middle of July.

Please use alternate routes whenever possible.  While efforts are being made to limit effects to the surrounding areas, you will likely experience some inconveniences.

As always, your patience and understanding is appreciated.

The Ryan Companies have been working to install new turn lanes on Wolf Road just south of the Old Plank Road Trail to accommodate their new senior housing facility, Clarendale of Mokena.

Work consists of the construction of new curb and gutter, pavement widening for the turn lanes, new asphalt surface on Wolf Road adjacent to the development, and a new 10' wide concrete bike path from the Old Plank Road Trail to the Marilyn Estates subdivision.

Temporary disruptions of traffic may occur, but Wolf Road remains open to two-way traffic.

Project completion is expected by mid-summer.

Please use alternate routes whenever possible.  While efforts are being made to limit effects to the surrounding areas, you may experience some inconveniences during construction.

As always, your patience and understanding is appreciated.
