Long-awaited repairs to the 191st Street Metra railroad crossing will be getting underway soon. Beginning Wednesday, July 6th, 191st Street will be CLOSED to all through traffic at the railroad crossing located between Everett Lane and Grotovsky Drive. Metra anticipates the improvements will take ten days to complete, and 191st Street will re-open to traffic on Saturday, July 16th.
All businesses will remain open through the construction, and local traffic only will be permitted in the vicinity of the crossing. At no time will motorists be able to cross the tracks during the closure.
If you wish to patronize businesses located east of the railroad crossing, you must use LaGrange Road to access 191st Street. If you are visiting businesses or residences west of the crossing, please use Wolf Road to access 191st Street. You can view the detour map by clicking the link below.
