Citizen’s Police Academy Offered

Citizens Police Academy
Will County Sheriff’s Office, Frankfort Police Department, and Manhattan Police Department team up to conduct their annual Citizen’s Police Academy starting Thursday, March 2.  The Academy, an informational, 12-week program open to the general public, is designed to inform citizens regarding how police and the criminal justice system function. 

Among other things, the program will include a K-9 demonstration, information on crime scene investigations and traffic stops, a tour of the Will County Jail, and more.   The Academy is free, open to the public, and will take place on consecutive Thursday evenings through May 18 at the New Lenox Police Department, 200 Veterans Parkway in New Lenox, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.  

Applications for the Academy are available now at the Mokena Police Department, 10907 Front Street, or click the link below.  Those interested are encouraged to apply now, as space is limited.
